Bula from Fiji,

the weather is hot, but thankfully not to hot. Sorry if there has not been many phones calls home. but cost a bomb. But as you can see we arrived safe and sound. The place we are staying is nice and clean. But OMG the shower water is so cold. But we are bravin it and having our shower's each day.

We have hired a car out for the few days. And jesus the fiji driver are MAD FECKER'S and i mean no word of a lie about that. Driving at night is even worse. Head lights are check on all the time they drive. Not good i tell ya.

We have found one really nice beach so far. Today we drove and drove going north from Nadi but found no beaches. So tomorrow we are going to go back to the first beach and were going horse ride and get a massage. Found a place for one hour cost 20 euros for the massage.

We haven't decided if were going to stay longer in fiji. We'll know more by tomorrow or early morning on wednesday.

Anyway will give more details of our trip when we get to ZN that will have a internet place that works fast then a donkey.

Well last few days we've been doing either sweet FA, sunbathing, drinking, dancing and a bit more drinking. Drinking lots of water of course.

We've been to the famous Fado's and drank the place dry and then went to a club a couple doors down the road from Fado's. We danced the night away, as you will see in the pictures. We did have a great body shaking video of Karen from that night but she deleted it. Its ok Mary and myself will be able to give anyone a visual shown of her dance.

We did a walk about the city centre market. Mary and Karen went wild in an amusement park that is at the bottom of the Space Neddle. I didn't go on any of the rides, watching the facial expressions of Mary and Karen was so much more fun then going on them.

We went for a lovely walk along the lake side down from Gary's place. Loads of lovely boats and yacths in the bay.

Saturday we went on a road trip to Mount St Helen's. OMG the views along the way were amasing. Breath taking they were. We took the wrong turn off the freeway. But just meant it was the long way around the mountain. This mountain is a volcano which went off May 18th 1980. the effect of the eruption you can see from the pics. To have a even better view of the country side we had to walk up the side of the mountain. A million steps up it was. Chest was killing us jus a tad.lol. But was so worth the pain when you saw the view.

Got back home then after 10pm. Quick wash and changed and back out the door we went. In the door of the first bar, got a drink. Mary and Karen went up for the secound round, 15 mins later Mary and Karen came back. No drinks. Seems if you aint a local you got to wait ages to get a drink.

Gary decided to bring us to a mates of his bar. Route 99. it is a blues bar. Walked in the door and the country western music banging. People all dressed up as if they were in the west.lol.

One red bull and vodka down and then a shot and then another red bull vodka and god knows how many drinks drank, all i know it was 5.30 in the morning. Time to head home.

Walked out on to the port view. The light of the day had hit us. The view of the sun and the lake was great. Stood there for a while looking out onto the water. But really had to find a taxi home. Afew blockes later and a sing a long along the road later we got a cab. Straight into bed for a few hours sleep.

Up at 6am. all getting ready. Hangover's from hell. Well lack of sleep i feel was more to do with it. As going asleep after 3.30am wasn't the best ideas we have every had.All good thou.

Taxi arrived on time at 7.00am. Another scared shitless drive on the New York roads. Really can't belive that we didn't crash into anyone the way they drive is so scary.

Got to JFK airport. Stood in line for ages to check in. Got up to the desk, Mary went first on putting her bag up. the check in woman told us that since been over weight we had to pay $25. We jumped in and told her we were allowed more due to our tickets. Her face didn't move a inch. Such straight face. Anyway all booked in away we went for the flight to LA.

Karen slept for over 3 hrs of the flight. Mary and me moving all over the place trying to get comfortable. Karen got her Guess Who game out. Mary and Karen played . We then moved onto to playing carss. Mary kept kicking our arses. Karen kicked mine. Well she won one game more then me. I don't think that is kicking my arse. 5hrs later we landed in LA.

Like always we don't have a clue were we are meant to be to get our next flight. System is shite with the huge size of the airport. Finally we find the place were meant to be. Lovely woman helped us. She went on about how she loves the Irish accent. We had a three hour wait. We got food in Burger King. within the airport there is a smoking area. Sun blazing down we jus had to sit outside and catch a few more rays.

Onto the plan. We flew with Alaska airline. I think they are jus like Ryanair with the small plans. Only a 2 and a half flight up to Seattle. Karen slept AGAIN. Flew by the time did.

today we did nothing.laid about the flat. then went to off to pick up new camera for elaine. had food in cafe.came back home and watched a dvd.

off to do uptown of the city tour. wasn't on open top bus this time so wasn't as good. sights weren't as good either. but was good to know what we won't be missing.
went to ground Zero/ worls trade centre. always brings a tear to my eye everytime i see it. is such  unbeliverable place to see and realise wat actually happened.
headed back home as off to bbq with camp friends. ate,drank and laughed. good nite in all.

Went to local diner for breakfast with Elana and Alex (our New York roomies). Our first day was kicked off nicely watching England and being kicked out of the World Cup by Portugal on Pennos, while drinking Tequila and lime magueritas. We then took the famous subway to Manhattan and what an experience it was. We were in bits laughing at some young black dude practicing his dance moves in the middle of the train while starring at his own reflection in the train window. The funniest was that nobody else around us found this one bit weird!

We first found ourselves in the Museum of the Ancient Indian where, having being first checked for guns, lasted 10 minutes before doing a runner.

We then took the ferry to Statan Island passing Ellis Island along the way which hosts the big lady...Statue of Liberty(a gift given to the USA by the French, positioned on Ellis Island to welcome immigrants to the States). The view of the sky line is amazing. We made our way back to Astoria where we had dinner in a Greek restaurant. When we headed back to the apartment we found ourselves locked out whch forced us to go searching for an Irish bar. Found one but aint one bit Irish I tell thee. One picture of Ireland and thats all...not impressed  but impressed by the free shots given to us by the gobshite of a barman who thinks there's 362 days in the year and that Dublin is located in Lough Derg in Northern Ireland...seriously!!!. Elena and Alex then came in to pick us up. After a few drinks we headed back to the apartment for a lovely card game...drinking poker. A mixture of drinks was made. not good in one way but great in another...Elaine was out for the count, Mary and Karen lived it up and drank a total of 4 pitchers staying up till all hours. Well done girls...so proud.
